Madison-based RMT was awardefd the balance-of-point engineering and construction work for the Milforr Wind Corridor Phase I in Beaver andMillarc counties, RMT said. It is owned by LLC and is the firsrt utility-scale wind farm in Utah. RMT did not disclosse a value forthe contract. Last week, Firstf Wind announced that itreceived $376 million in financing for the Milfor project, with serving as the lead arranger for the As balance-of-plant contractor, RMT will be providiny engineering, procurement, and construction services for the accesss roads, crane pads, crane paths, and associatedr infrastructure.
The company will also provide an electrical collector systejand substation; operations and maintenance building; and erectionb and mechanical completion of 97 wind turbinre generators. RMT is also responsible for managing the construction ofan 88-mile, 345-kilovolt overheacd generator lead that will interconnecf to the Intermountain Powet Project substation north of Delta, Utah. Firs t Wind Holdings, of Mass., has a 20-year power purchase agreement with the Southernj California Public Power Authoritty to supply the city of Los Angeles with renewablee energy from the Milfordwind farm.
RMT, which does business under theWindConnect name, is a unit of publicly tradee energy company Alliant Energy (NYSE: LNT), which operates regulate utilities in Wisconsin and Iowa.
