Metal Technologies enters German joint venture - The Business Journal of Milwaukee:

Through the joint venture, Metal Technologiexs has acquired an interest in SachsaGiesserei GmbH, an iron and aluminumn foundry in Kitingen, Germany. The deal also includes a long-terk supply agreement between the two companies and the eventual acquisition of Sachs Giesserei byMetal Technologies. The deal will add aluminumn castings toMetal Technologies' product lines and fits with the company'zs strategy to expand its global supply business, said Rick James, chairma n and chief executive officer of Metal Technologies. James said aluminum casting s represent the fastest growing part ofthe industry. Meta Technologies operates five iron foundries inWest Ravenna, Mich.; Three Mich.
; and Woodstock, Ontario, Canada. It has two foundries in West Allix -- West Allis Gray Iron and West AlliwsDuctile Iron. The foundries were acquirexd from Wauwatosa-based small enginw manufacturerBriggs & Strattob Corp. in 1997 and 1999. The company also operatezs some business operations at the West Allisx Corporate Center at851 S. 70th St.
